Re: feckin potato rompers clogging amid the stoneyards

hmm   you get two black (or) green plastic bags.. duct tape them together for a rain fly for your box... and a few extra bits of flotsam to keep your b. off the ground. I prefer my Annapurna 4 season with a groovy tie down system .. will be trying it out just down the road at your local camp grownd.. look for the bright orange cocoon with a bunch of paintings piled up nearby.. a small one burner camp stove   ( for the fair trade  French roast ground for drip from Midnight Sun Coffee Roasters in Whitehorse) with the java just made... and skim milk whipped up with a fork, hot and yummy.. bring your own mug dearie...

palimpsest.. having been before... . so.. I came into the librarium yest. and a pal was gaining ground on New Zealand... they want folks to come there it looks like  as even old ladies like her ( and I) can get work permits which can be renewed indef.. .. groovy art scene in Christchurch  and great book stores too. a bit like jolly old. with the swans etc...
rather go to Oz.. I dig the climate.. maybe I'll put an ad out.... "Wanted... nice smelling sheep drover, must have Land Rover, clean house and satt.con.... send photo of vehicle..

actually.. I met a guy in the zerox store.. he was in Whitehorse to pick up a gal he met on the internet... they were actually going to get hitched!.. he was a sunburnt 60ish  retired miner (I can imagine the conversations) and lived in    BROKEN HILL.. one the most desolate, backward hick places in OZ...

sigh... I do love the birds and jungles up in Queensland.. my little kid and I would go on night walks to listen to the jungle

A bright orange raccoon? Doesn't that make it rather easy for the gristly bears to spot you or don't they eat raccoons? Anyway, cheers for the offer but you can keep the coffee. Can't stand the vile substance. Besides everybody should drink tea to support the Brit Empire, if not the whole thing could collapse!

Talking of which. Does the imminent advent of republicanism in Horsetralia mean that some of its locales will have to be renamed? Presumably Sydney will become Bruce, Victoria will become Kylie and Queensland will be renamed after Oz's greatest king and changed to Donbradmanland!

PS. I thought all of 'Strylier' conformed to your description of Broken Hills.

that's weird.. just got mail form a Spanish Basque cyclist...age 70... we met at the hostel in Dawson when I first came into town..he was planning a trip to Tierra Del Fuego... anyhoo he had his stuff ripped off in BC and was very sad... now going to OZ and cycling from Melbourne to Darwin!... AND, I had recently stolen a Nat. Geo  from an office to get the article about a guy cycling around OZ..... hey man... what?  is that William Blake's Keeper of Days measuring time out for us.. destiny..fortuna or...fate or goddesses wills.. what do  you think... is there a collective unconscious which springs up and we listeners hear the siren songs...is it magic, synchronicity or ...

..... an album by The Police!

You see I'm not a complete imbecile, you know. I know what synchronicity is (although how it ended up in a swimming pool as an olympic event baffles me)!

Is it very comfortable cycling in a basque (particularly if your a bloke)? I would have thought that some of those spray-on lycra cycle shorts would have been more appropriate.
