Farewell

Dear Paul - Very sorry to hear that you are going and that Spooky St Ives will be no more. Perhaps Spooky IoM will arise from the ashes. I have very much enjoyed your website and appreciate all you have done for the Land I hold dear. I was actually born in Hereford and am in the process of discovering my Cornish connections. My copy of Cornwall Today arrived on the doormat this morning and it is all hope and confidence, so there may well be two sides to the coin. Despite our different approach and viewpoint we both have the best interests of Cornwall very much to heart. May I wish you all the very best in whatever you do. If you decide to take up a new sport in the IoM take up fencing, they have a great club over there - All the very best to you - Winwaloe

Hereford, eh? Probably grew up with the Mappa Mundi, then. That would explain your confusion as to the whereabouts of Belerion, the Fortunate Isles and the 'Here Be Dragons' (Roseworthy Dip on the A30, actually).

Don't think even anyone as enlightened as the Manx would let me take up sword-fighting. Not after the 'roast suckling child' incident on the
carnagery up t'castle. (Some ems are just so unappreciative. The child was immensely annoying and it would have tasted disgusting without the seasoning, stuffing and apple in the mouth).

As french painters (or film directors) would say ..... Au Renoir!

Forget Roeworthy Dip what about Indian Queens? - So,
what you going to do in TT land?

We say 'pah!'. The Indian Queens merely hold people up whereas the Roseworthy Dip, once entered, is rarely exited in an unmangled condition.

Well, officially I've been head-hunted to run the Department of Tourism after my sterling work down here on behalf of the SI and Cornwall tourist industry. However, I am hoping to find some time to indulge in a spot of owl-stretching, viking raiding and golf. (Although I'm not sure if golf is THAT popular over there).
